This blog has lived on WordPress since 2007-ish, and over the last weeks I’ve been rebuilding it as a static site. The rebuild is done, it’s validated, and in the next few days the domain will switch over.
For most of you the move will be nearly invisible. Same domain, same URLs, same RSS feed at daniel.dekay.org/rss.xml, old links redirect. If you read this through the RSS feed, you don’t have to do anything.
There is exactly one exception, and it’s the reason for this post.
The ask
If you follow me on the fediverse through the old WordPress account — the one that shows up as this blog’s actor — please re-follow me at:
It takes ten seconds: search for @daniel@charlemos.club in your client, hit follow. (That’s my Friendica account, which I run myself — it’s where I actually read mentions and replies.)

So this is really about findability going forward: new followers should find me at @daniel@charlemos.club, and old followers should re-follow there to keep seeing my posts in their home timeline.
The honest trade-offs
Two things I’m giving up, stated plainly:
- Handle branding. My fediverse identity will display as
@daniel@charlemos.club, not@daniel@daniel.dekay.org. The alias preserves the old handle as a signpost, not as a brand. - Self-managed dependency. The identity now depends on charlemos.club staying alive. I own and run it myself, so the risk is mine to manage — but if you depend on someone’s identity, it’s worth knowing where it lives.
And one for the WP-actor followers specifically: whatever you do, the old account can’t follow you back or migrate your relationship over. Re-following is the only path. Sorry about the extra click.
